ePurpose

Helping the Planet and helping our Wounded Veterans

What we do:

ePurpose is creating an ecosystem for ewaste collection and recycling that will provide the benefits of convenience and connection with doing well for the environment and our veterans.

We host collection events, pickup at your door,  provide mail in services, place convenient drop boxes at your local retail stores, and we contribute to the rehabilitation of wounded veterans through our profits and our ePurpose Foundation.

We are redefining how ewaste is collected and used for useful purposes. If you are a single individual or are part of a small or large business, everyone can contribute simply by allowing us to recycle your electronic waste. In most cases this service is free.

Over the last few decades the world has seen an explosion in demand and supply of electronic devices.

As the world’s hunger for faster, more functional electronics grew, the lifecycle of electronic equipment shortened. This phenomenon has resulted in millions of tons of obsolete electronic equipment generated each year; a quantity growing at an exponential rate all over the world.

Statistics support the fact that ewaste is the fastest growing segment of solid waste in the United States.

Statistics also overwhelmingly support the fact that the vast majority of ewaste is not recycled. “Only 23 percent of Americans recycle their old or unused electronic items, and 41 percent either throw such items in the trash or don’t dispose of them at all, according to a national survey by Staples.”… “Every day in the U.S., an estimated 133,000 computers are discarded and not recycled or reused, which causes mounting trash and toxicity in landfills.”… “68 percent of consumers stockpile used or unwanted computer equipment in their homes.”
